The plus side of collaboration
There’s a distinction that needs to be emphasized at this point. Folks are confusing collaboration projects with compilations.The former is the harmonic coexistence between artistic contribution predicated on actual talent and or financial aims. Kool.The latter is a package of either B sides or B artist sitting on a volume of various tunes, boons and goons.Strictly for the sake of the quick fix.
The plus side of collaborations is the direction of the unknown. The actual experience of making a bridge to join two or more creative schools of sound and make a unified statement. That’s the idealistic goal of art. The practical side is to sustain the relevance of the artist involved in the public eye. Sort of like a marriage of necessity . The down side is minimal. It can only be a confirmation of what the public already knows. You suck.
So by all means pick your reasons. Make the effort to collaborate. Stretch your chops. Get on the plus side of things.
